Hey neighbors, small-town Iowa here. I’m 14 months past my first Covid infection and the cognitive stuff is the stubborn one. I can run the till at work fine, but I lose words mid-sentence, and by 3 p.m. my brain feels like it’s buffering.
I used to do the Sunday crossword in pen; now I stare at 7-across and forget what I was doing. I keep a little notebook with habits—sleep, protein, a 20-minute walk, no scrolling after 9—and on good weeks I’m maybe 10% sharper.
My local pharmacy folks are sweet, but they don’t stock anything like the peptides I keep hearing about, and my insurance is a brick wall for anything long-Covid related.
I’m not asking for a protocol, just wondering if anyone else has asked their doctor about this and gotten a real conversation or just a shrug. Did anything help your word-finding or afternoon fog, or am I chasing unicorns?
