Old melanotan tan left pale spots - anyone else?

Tbh i'm five months into tirzepatide and down 28 lb, and I've been taking monthly photos of my skin because I'm pale and have a lot of freckles. A few summers before starting, I tried melanotan for about six weeks.

It gave me a decent tan but also left two pale patches on my upper arm and one near my collarbone. They faded to where I barely noticed them.

Lately, though, those same spots look lighter again, especially after yard work in short sleeves. My dermatologist said pigment can be uneven and didn't seem concerned, but I'm curious whether anyone else with past melanotan use has seen old hypopigmentation get more obvious during weight loss or more sun exposure.

I'm not looking for dosing help - just trying to compare notes. Did yours stay the same, fade, or shift over time?

I run a cafe, so I’m surrounded by pastry trays and “just one bite” temptations all day — tracking anything consistently feels like a win. I’ve taken monthly photos for a different reason (arms in the same mirror light, same time of day), and I had an old spray-tan streak that only became obvious again once I lost some weight and my arms got leaner.

Do your pale patches look more noticeable in certain lighting or after you’ve been in the sun? A little sticker dot near the spot helped me keep the camera angle identical, which made comparing phoos way less maddening.

Not melanotan, but I’ve got an old pale patch on my shoulder from a bad burn, and it got way more obvious as I lost weight — same skin, less padding underneath, I guess. I take my monthly pics in the same bathroom light with a sticky note for the date, otherwise I freak out over nothing.

Are yours changing with weight, or just more visible when you’re paler in winter? Also toddler chaos means my only organized zone is the snack drawer, so I keep the measuring tape there or I’d never find it.

I’m a spreadsheet person too: 14 months of monthly photos, same 10 a.m. indirect light, same 18-inch distance, plus a little ruler for scale.

My old freckles didn’t change, but their contrast did after 22 lb down — upper-arm skin got looser, shadows shifted, and pale patches I’d forgotten suddenly popped. Mildly contrarian take: it’s probably less about the med and more about changing surface area/lighting.

Sharp question: are your pale spots in areas where you’ve lost noticeable circumference? Try a north-facing window shot before you conclude they’re back.

I don’t have melanotan experience, but I do have an old spray-tan blotch on my upper arm that got way more noticeable after I lost weight — I think because the skin there is less stretched now. In my cafe back office the lighting is awful, so I started adding a white envelope to my monthly photos for white balance; my phone was making the patch look darker or lighter depending on what was behind me.

I also take one relaxed and one flexed arm shot, because angles lie. Do your pale spots change with those, or stay pretty consistent?
