I caught the tail end of that obesity trial presentation everyone was posting about. I’m 14 months at goal after losing 73 pounds, and I expected the data to make me feel something big.
Instead I just thought about my own ordinary maintenance: a 5-pound buffer I actually respect, protein first at breakfast, and a 15-minute walk after lunch even when it’s drizzling. The flashy numbers are interesting, but they don’t change what Monday looks like for me.
Maybe that’s the real long-game shift — news is news, and my habits are just habits now. Did anyone else watch and feel weirdly unmoved, in a good way?
