My aunt grabbed my wrist and started doing math

Sunday dinner, my aunt grabbed my wrist, frowned at it, and did visible math about whether I was “too skinny.” I’m down 74 pounds over two years and sitting in maintenance. I ate the same plate as everyone else: pork, rice, green beans, one roll, then pie because it was pie. My cousin kept saying I looked fragile.

I tried to keep it systems-level: the scale is one sensor, not the whole dashboard, and my clothes fit the way I want. Nobody wanted a dashboard. They wanted me to take a second roll. I took it, logged it, moved on.

What I don’t know is how to shut down the “too skinny committee” without turning family dinner into a quarterly review. Do you answer seriously, joke, or just keep eating?

The wrist-grab math is nonsense—wrists don’t tell you anything about maintenance. I’d redirect to boring objective stuff: bodyweight trend over 4–6 weeks, waist staying stable, lifting 4x/week still progressing or at least holding, protein and sleep consistent.

If those are fine, “fragile” is just a vibe, not data. Sharp question: have you held the same weight range for a few months, and are your main lifts stable?

That’s the recomp/maintenance check I’d trust way more than a cousin’s eyeball assessment.
