What do you do when evening grazing sneaks back

I’m doing okay at meals, but around 8:30 the pantry starts feeling magnetic. Dinner was real — protein, veg, enough — and then I’m hunting for something crunchy even though I’m not truly hungry.

Last night I caught myself eating cereal standing up, which I hadn’t done in months. I don’t want to turn it into a shame spiral; I just want a plan for that 20-minute window.

For those of you who’ve had this urge come and go: what actually helps? A drink? Brushing teeth? A set snack? Leaving the room? I’m collecting ideas to test this week.

I’m a daily weigher too, and evening grazing shows up in my trend line as a little blip, not a verdict. What helped me was a 9pm “closing ritual”: herbal tea, brush teeth, then a 10-min timer where I do something with my hands (crossword, folding laundry).

If I still want crunch, I plate 15g of pretzels with dinner and that’s my official crunchy. The standing cereal thing used to be my tell that I was bored/tired, not hungry.

Sharp question: is it the crunch or the transition from kitchen to couch? If it’s transition, maybe build a 5-min buffer.

Trend line stays calm; one night is noise.
