Almost a year on this, and the last stretch is stubborn

I hit my one-year mark with the pharmacy next month and I can't decide if I'm proud or just irritated. Down 61 pounds, which is real and I'm not going to wave it off.

But the last four months have been almost comically flat — 218 in April, 216.5 this morning, with plenty of bounce in between. I lift three mornings a week, walk the dog 40 minutes most evenings, and I've been hovering around 130g of protein since February.

My measurements haven't moved since early May.

The strange part is I feel better than the chart suggests. Hills that used to make me stop for air don't anymore. Resting heart rate is down about nine beats. I wake up before my alarm most days.

So I'm not quitting. I'm just recalibrating what a win looks like for the next stretch. Anyone else cross the one-year line and find the second year needs a totally different scorecard?

I had a similar flat stretch and the scale was lying to me. I track weekly averages, not single mornings: 214.8 in Feb, 213.1 in May, 212.6 now, but waist down 1.75 in and squat volume up.

If you’re lifting 3x, are you logging monthly averages and tape measurements or just scale? Also, are your dog walks same route/pace?

I added a 10-min hill loop and a protein-forward breakfast, and my 6-week average finally moved. What does your weekly average look like over the last 6 weeks?

Flat stretch here too, and the thing that snuck up on me was kid-adjacent grazing — finishing their pasta, handfuls from the snack drawer at 4pm. I swapped in a drawer of edamame, cheese sticks, and roasted chickpeas so I still grab something but it’s deliberate.

Also started a monthly waist measure instead of just the scale. Scale barely moved but leggings got looser.

Are you measuring anything besides weight, or noticing the lifting changing how your clothes fit?
