My progress photos now have a lighting protocol and a tripod

I used to take mirror selfies whenever the bathroom bulb felt generous. Now it's a tripod, the same wall, the same lamp, 6:10 a.m. before anyone else is up. My systems brain likes having one variable changing: me. The scale is noisy, the tape is slow, but the photo set is a clean audit trail.

Down 34 lb over five months, and the last four shots show my shoulders sitting back before the number moved much. Anyone else turn progress photos into a boring reproducible protocol, or am I just optimizing the fun out of it?

Ha, the 6:10 a.m. tripod era. I went through the same thing after that old “same doorway, same jeans” thread.

The thing that made my set actually comparable was taping an X on the floor for my feet and marking the lamp angle with a sticky note. Sounds fussy, but it stopped the fake progress/regress from standing two inches off.

Do you shoot the same shorts/top every time, or just whatever? I switched to a plain uniform after month two and the visual delta got way easier to read.
