Stuck 187, skin focus...

I’m not posting a before/after. I’m 14 months in, 91 lbs down, and the scale has been parked between 186 and 188 since early April.

My brain keeps saying if I just lose 15 more the skin will tighten, which I know is probably nonsense. What’s actually bugging me is my lower belly and upper arms. I can handle the plateau most days, but showering is when it gets loud.

I’ve started two strength days and an after-dinner walk, mostly to feel like I’m doing something. I’m curious how others separate “still losing” frustration from “skin might be a different project.” Not looking for a surgery pitch, just wondering if anyone else’s plateau turned into a skin-removal rabbit hole.

91 lbs is huge—please don’t let the plateau erase that. I’m in a similar parked phase, and what helped my shower dread was switching from scale goals to a 3-item check-in: waist at navel, upper-arm circumference, and one strength benchmark (push-ups, plank time, whatever).

The numbers barely moved at first, but my posture and how shirts fell changed. Are you doing any resistance work for arms/shoulders yet?

Even 10 minutes twice a week gave me something to celebrate that wasn’t skin-related. Also: same lighting

The shower mirror is the worst, honestly. One thing that helped me stop obsessing over my lower belly was buying a cheap cloth tape and measuring instead of weighing.

Once a month, same morning: belly button and widest part of my upper arm. The scale sat still for 11 weeks, but my arm went down 3/4 inch and my belly stayed the same, which told me it was more loose skin than fat.

I also switched to higher-rise jeans and a fitted tank under

Plateau twin here. The shower is where I do my worst math too.

One concrete thing that helped: I keep a soft tape in the bathroom and measure waist at navel plus upper arm once a month, not daily. Scale hasn't moved since April, but my upper arm measurement dropped a half inch, which I never would've noticed.

Are you tracking anything besides weight? My lower belly is still my dragon, but the tape at least shows the grind is doing something.
