Uneventful checkup win

Three years here, mostly lurking. I’ve been in maintenance since last spring, around 61 lbs down. Yesterday my annual physical came back with no red dots: A1c 5.4, liver enzymes in range, BP 118/76.

I didn’t cry in the parking lot or anything, but I sat in the car and ate a string cheese because I didn’t know what else to do. The weird part is nothing about my day changed.

Same 7k walk, same black coffee, same Sunday chicken tray. I keep thinking about the thread where people said maintenance is just the same boring decisions without the scale fireworks. That landed.

For those further out: did your normal labs feel anticlimactic too, or did it hit you later?

The parking-lot string cheese is deeply relatable. I keep a “boring wins” note in my phone for exactly this—dates when the scale trend is flat, labs are unremarkable, and nothing dramatic happens.

It’s weirdly reassuring to watch consistency stack up. What was the weird part you were about to say?

I’m curious whether it was the anticlimax or just how different maintenance feels than you expected.

the anticlimax after a good checkup is so real. i do a monthly spreadsheet row now: energy, heartburn, and how many sodas i actually swapped for seltzer.

seeing 11 green days in a row does more for me than the scale lately. late-night gamer brain loves a tiny reward, so i switched the “celebrate” from a soda to fancy sparkling water + lime and it weirdly stuck.

what was the weird part for you, though? like waiting for the other shoe to drop, or not knowing how to feel after so long in fix-it mode?
