What a regular Tuesday plate looks like at my house

I stopped at the local pharmacy this morning to pick up my refill, and the pharmacist asked how I was feeling. Told her the appetite part is steady; the tricky part is figuring out what a normal day actually looks like now.

Insurance approved a 90-day fill, which was a relief, though I still had to call and ask why the copay jumped.

Anyway, here's my usual weekday: coffee with a splash of milk around 7. Around 10, a Greek yogurt cup and a few blueberries. Lunch is usually leftovers, half a chicken breast, green beans, maybe a small scoop of rice. If I'm running errands, I keep a string cheese and a little bag of almonds in my tote.

Supper is whatever my husband and I cook, just a smaller portion: one taco with extra lettuce, or a bowl of chili. I don't snack much after 7 unless I'm actually hungry, and then it's a piece of toast with peanut butter. What does an ordinary day look like for you lately? I'm nosy and need ideas.

Steady appetite, chaotic plate—yep, that tracks.

Hi! Brand-new week-one member here too, so I’m reading every plate post like a textbook.

Thanks for the pharmacy/copay bit—I had no idea a 90-day fill could still surprise you. My Tuesday was cottage cheese and peaches at breakfast, a small chicken salad at lunch, then a panicky dinner “snacky plate”: turkey slices, a few crackers, cucumber, and string cheese.

Weirdly toddler-ish, but doable. Would you mind sharing what’s actually on your regular Tuesday plate?

I’m trying to learn what “enough” looks like without overthinking every bite.

Honestly, i keep waiting for the “normal day” memo too. Mine got lost in the mail.

I’ve been doing a boring phone note: time, hunger 1–10, protein/fiber estimate, and whether I was actually hungry or just at the fridge. Two weeks in, my “regular Tuesday” looked fine at dinner but lunch was mostly carbs, and I was hunting snacks by 4.

Not saying it’s magic—just the only pattern that showed up in my own log. What did your plate look like when you wrote it down?

And did insurance give you an actual claim breakdown for the copay jump, or just a shrug?

My “normal Tuesday” is less a plate and more a dorm microwave crime scene. Current cheap-protein lineup: pouch of brown rice, frozen edamame, canned tuna, sriracha mayo, and a heroic amount of hot sauce.

Total ~$2.30 if I ignore the emotional cost of tuna breath. What actually helped me was tracking texture/fullness instead of numbers: I snap the plate, then note 1 hr later whether it sat heavy or vanished.

Turns out I need volume + protein at lunch

Chaotic mealtimes here too—my snck drawer is basically a food group 😅

The 90-day approval with a copay jump is so backwards. For actual Tuesday plates, I quit chasing “dinner” and do components: rotisserie chicken, frozen edamame, cucumber, and whatever carb is left over.

Kids get the same plus nuggets. Snack drawer is pre-portioned nuts, string cheese, jerky, and clementines at eye level so I actually see them.

My trick is putting a little protein on the counter while I make their plates, otherwise I graze standing up. Do you track by meal, or just by whether you got some protein in at each eating window?

That shifted things for me more than numbers.

man the copay jump is so real. mine went up when they switched me to the 3-month thing too, like thanks i guess lol.

my tuesday plate lately is rotisserie chicken, a steam bag of broccoli, and a baked potato with greek yogurt + hot sauce. gaming snack is turkey slices rolled around a pickle and sparkling water with lime instead of soda.

i started just taking a pic of my plate at night and it’s helped me see “normal” without logging every bite. do you pre-track or just eyeball it?

also what’s your late-night swap been?

Oh I hate when the copay plays games—90 days is a win though! Can't wait to see the plate, Tuesday meals are my favorite puzzle.

I've been logging my Tuesday dinners for a month — turns out my "normal" plate is 5 oz chicken, a cup of roasted broccoli, and half a sweet potato. Weirdly consistent. The bigger variable is timing: if I eat after 8pm, I wake up hungrier.

What time do you usually sit down for dinner? Trying to shift mine earlier for a week and see if it moves the needle.
