I stopped grading every day as pass or fail

Last night I realized I’ve been running a two-column system in my head: “crushed it” or “ruined it.” I got 8,000 steps instead of 10,000, hit protein at breakfast and lunch, then ate popcorn for dinner because I was wiped. Old me would’ve called the whole day a fail and used it as permission to skip today’s walk.

Instead I put on shoes, did 15 minutes, and logged it.

It felt boring, but boring seems to be the thing that keeps me consistent. For those further along: how do you handle the in-between days without turning them into a verdict on the whole week?

this resonates. I switched from pass/fail to a “floor” — the smallest version of the day that still counts.

Mine is 10 min walk + one protein anchor + lights out by 11. If I only get the walk, it’s not a fail; it’s just a low-capacity day.

Popcorn dinner isn’t a moral event either. I’m curious: when you put on shoes, did you decide the 15 min in advance, or did you just tell yourself “five minutes and I can stop”?

That trick works better for me than any streak.
