My Sunday-night travel routine is mostly ziplock bags

Sunday nights I'm usually in a hotel with bad lighting and a desk the size of a laptop. My version of a reset is less spa candles, more damage control: I empty my backpack, toss the sad banana, refill my 24-oz bottle, and make four snack baggies with almonds or turkey jerky.

Then I stack Monday's protein shakes in the mini fridge like Tetris. Ten minutes, max. The weird part is it makes Monday travel feel less like a scavenger hunt.

If I skip it, I end up grazing from whatever the hotel lobby has near the elevator. If I do it, I actually eat something before my first meeting instead of pretending coffee is a food group.

Curious what everyone else does — do you have a small Sunday thing that keeps the week from turning into gas-station snacks?

I’m the weirdo who weighs the baggies. 25g almonds (~145 cal) and 1 oz jerky (~80) per bag; pre-logging Sunday night beats Monday airport math every time.

My 12-week trendline: weeks with 4 packed snacks + 2 shakes ready in the mini fridge run ~250–300 cal/day lower than winging it, mostly fewer terminal-gate pretzels. Contrarian take: the ziplock isn’t the magic, the pre-commit is.

Do you log Monday before you pack, or just track as you go? Also, tiny headlamp > hotel desk lamp for finding the sad banana.

The mini-fridge Tetris is real. My travel add-on: I take a pic of the fridge setup and make it my Monday lock screen, so I don’t have to think before coffee.

Also, I stopped stressing over the hotel-scale number—restaurant sodium and bad sleep usually make it pure noise. I just log it and trust the 7-day line.

Do you pre-log Monday or just eyeball it from the baggies?

For what it's worth, sorry to hijack — do the baggies survive airport security, or is that just me? The mini-fridge Tetris is so real 😂

The mini fridge Tetris is real. I’ve started freezing one shake overnight so it acts like an ice pack in my backpack Monday, then it’s thawed by lunch.

Also I track hotel fridge temps with a cheap $6 thermometer because some run warm and my yogurt got sketchy. What’s your backup if the mini fridge is already full of overpriced water?
