I’m roughly a year and a half into maintenance after losing 47 pounds. If I were starting over, I’d spend less time hunting for the perfect plan and more time making a few boring things easy.
For me that was a protein-heavy breakfast, a 15-minute walk after dinner, and a Sunday check-in where I looked at the week ahead instead of grading the past one. I also had to accept that some days I’d be hungry, some days I wouldn’t, and neither was a moral failure.
The people who seem to do well long-term aren’t doing anything dramatic; they just keep returning to the same small choices. What’s one simple habit you’d tell a beginner to just repeat?
