Held most of it five months off — want long-run stories?

I came off in April after roughly 14 months on it. Not a dramatic exit, just tapered down with my clinician and kept my own log. Five months later I'm about 48 lbs below my peak and sitting within roughly 4 lbs of my last on-drug weight.

The surprise was weeks 4–8 off: the evening grazing urge came back, quieter than it used to be but definitely present. I still front-load protein and walk most days.

In the trials, average regain after discontinuation is real, but averages bury the people who held it. I keep wondering what separates them — habit momentum, how long they were on it, sleep, something I can't measure.

So if you're 6+ months past your last dose, what actually kept portions honest for you? Not asking for a protocol, just patterns. The honeymoon month doesn't interest me much — I want to hear about month seven, once the novelty wore off.

Hi, brand new here — week one and already nervous about the “later” part, so thank you for posting. The weeks 4–8 urge return is exactly what scares me. When you say the evening grazing came back quieter, did you notice a specific trigger time or food?

I’ve started a silly little notes-app log: time, hunger 1–10, and whether I was actually bored vs hungry. It’s only been a few days, but evenings are already my danger zone. Did anything everyday-ish help you ride that wave — a walk, pre-portioned snack, brushing teeth early, anything that actually stuck?

No pressure to answer, just trying to learn from people further out. Congrats on holding most of it, that’s huge.

Maintained about two years after hitting goal, and weeks 4–8 off were my “witching hour” too. The urge felt less like true hunger and more like a leftover habit loop.

What helped me was adding a column to my log for urge intensity (1–5) and trigger—time, stress, boredom. Once I saw it was almost always 8–9pm on chaotic days, I started planning a real evening snack/tea and a short walk instead of white-knuckling it.

Curious: did your log show a specific trigger in those weeks, or was it mostly the clock? Your 4-lb window sounds like a solid landing.

This is the long-run story I lurk for. I’m seven months off and stuck in a 10-week flat spot, which is maddening. What finally nudged things for me wasn’t a big overhaul: I started loging sleep and a 1–5 urge score before any snack.

Turned out my grazing clustered after <6.5 hrs sleep and boring evenings. Added a 15-min walk after dinner and a hobby I suck at. Scale moved 4 lbs over six weeks.

Did your log show any sleep/stress pattern around the urge coming back? I’m trying to figure out if I’m dealing with hunger or just habit.

i’m chaos central with two kids, so my snack drawer is all about friction. I portion nuts/cheese into little bags on Sunday, keep cut cucumber at eye level, and do a “kitchen closed” tea ritual after their bedtime.

If I still want something, I log the urge first and wait 15 min. That log has been more useful than the scale: my grazing clusters around cleanup, not hunger.

Did your own log flag a trigger task like that, or was it mostly clock time? I’m trying to build the next version of my drawer around it.
