My morning coffee habit is already shrinking and I'm noticing it

Honestly, hi, new here and only on day six, so please excuse the tiny question. For years I’ve had two big mugs of black coffee while I check email, and today I barely finished half of one.

I didn’t feel sick, just completely uninterested, which never happens. I’m trying not to panic or read meaning into every little shift, but it’s odd to lose a ritual I actually liked.

Did your morning drinks change much in the beginning, and did they come back around? I’m just hoping to know what’s normal-ish. Thanks for any gentle replies.

late-night gamer here. my coffee thing went sideways too, but for me it was more the ritual than the caffeine—i’d sit down for queue and just want cold water instead.

i started tracking liquids in a notes app like a dork: coffee oz, water oz, soda-swap attempts. turns out i was way below my old coffee amount and way up on fizzy water + flavor drops.

one conrete tweak: smaller mug so dumping half doesn’t feel like a crime. is it that coffee tastes different now, or you just forget it’s sitting there?

those feel like different puzzles.

Day 6 solidarity. My campus coffee is $1.25 and I used to refill that same mug twice while pretending to read syllabi. Now I make one, take four sips, and it goes cold next to my econ notes like a tiny disappointed roommate.

I’m not nauseous either, just zero pull. I started jotting it in my notes app: time, how much I actually drank, whether I wanted it or just wanted the email-checking ritual. Turns out I mostly miss the ritual.

Sharp question: is it the caffeine you miss, or the 20-minute sit-down? I’m thinking of swapping mug #2 for dining-hall eggs + yogurt since protein is cheap there, but I don’t wanna force it if my body’s just saying “less, thanks.”
