Road life has been my whole personality for years, and I finally stopped treating every terminal like a food court challenge. I'm down 68 pounds over about 71 weeks, slow, boring, and somehow still happening.
My routine is unglamorous: hotel breakfast eggs, almonds in my carry-on, rotisserie chicken from whatever grocery store is near the hotel, and a ridiculous amount of fizzy water. I walk the concourse instead of camping at the gate, which has added up more than any perfect week.
Jeans went from a 40 to a 33, and I bought a medium jacket last month without a dressing room meltdown. The annoying part is expense-account dinners and tiny airport salads that cost more than my first car.
For anyone who travels constantly, what's your best non-refrigerated protein or hotel-room meal that doesn't feel like punishment?
