My percent-down column carried this odd week

late thursday after ranked matches i weighed in at 213.4, only 0.8 down from last week. old me would've felt like that was nothing.

but the app also showed i passed 14% total lost, since my start was 248. same week, same sleep mess, same two midnight sodas swapped for fizzy water, but the percent made it feel like a direction instead of a shrug.

i still log pounds, i just look at the percent column first now. anyone else keep a percent number around just to keep their brain quiet?

I’ve started pairing the weekly delta with a 4-week average and the percent-lost number, because a 0.8 can look tiny next to a 14% milestone even when it’s just one weird rank-night weigh-in. The 14% is the headline for me.

Does your app calculate that from your 248 start, or does it use a rolling baseline? Mine flips between the two and it totally changes how I read an odd week.

Congrats on 14% — that’s basically a whole carry-on’s worth. I’m on the road constantly, so I add a “context” column to my tracker: city, whether it’s a hotel gym scale, and if I had airport food.

The weekly delta gets noisy, but percent-down is the boarding pass saying I’m still headed the right way. Do you log which scale you used?

I swear some hotel scales have a personality disorder.

14% is the headline, honestly. In maintenance I stopped letting Thursday be the judge and gave the scale a job description: it reports, it doesn’t grade.

Concrete thing that helped me: same jeans, first thing monthly, plus a two-line note on sleep and salty food. Then a flat 0.8 is just data, not a verdict.

Curious—do you count the soda swap as its own win? I keep a dumb little “kept promises” tally separate from weight, and it got me through plenty of noisy weeks.
