New here: my starter pen arrived after a very long trip

Hi everyone, I'm brand new and only one week in. Sorry if this is a silly first post. My first GLP-1 pen spent about six weeks in transit before it finally reached my door, and the little temperature strip looked like it had seen better days. I haven't opened anything yet.

I'm not asking anyone to tell me what to do medically - I'll be checking with my prescriber and pharmacy. I'm mostly wondering if anyone else has had a delivery take a strange, slow route, and how you managed the anxious waiting part.

I'm trying not to overthink every detail, but I really want to start this off carefully. Thanks for being kind to a newbie.

Welcome. The six-week transit thing would make me curious too, but I’d keep it separate from whether you feel effects—early on, appetite/GI stuff can be noisy from food, hydration, sleep.

What helped me was a plain notes app: time of day, hunger 1–10, protein grams, water, any GI stuff, sleep. No judgment, just patterns. In the trials, people who tracked consistently seemed to catch what was actually changing vs. random blips.

Since you haven’t opened it, maybe snap a photo of the strip/box/lot for your own records while you wait on the official answer. What’s your current tracking setup, if any?

does the strip show an actual threshold breach, or just faded/beat-up printing? Those are different failure modes, and only one is actionable.

If it were me, I’d photograph the strip next to the lot number and delivery timestamp before opening anything — paper trail beats memory. I also log first-week appetite, sleep, water, and any weirdness in a notes app, so if something feels off later I can compare against a baseline instead of vibes.

Six weeks in transit is a logistics bug, not a character flaw. What does the indicator actually say?

That limbo week before you even open it is a good chance to set a baseline—nothing fancy, just water, protein at breakfast, and a short walk. I keep a paper checklist on the fridge and it’s weirdly motivating to see little checkmarks add up.

What’s one small habit you’d want to track so you’re not starting from zero when you do get going?
