Melanotan cancer claim vs derm

I keep seeing Melanotan II framed as melanoma prophylaxis in peptide threads. That’s not what my dermatologist says. I’m fair-skinned, 14 months on semaglutide, down 51 lb, and I still get annual skin checks plus daily SPF.

The proposed mechanism—tanning without UV—sounds tidy, but tanning itself is a DNA-damage response, and I haven’t found credible human outcome data. Maybe I’m missing something peer-reviewed. Has anyone’s derm or endocrinologist actually endorsed this, or is it just forum logic?

Night shift here. Melanotan darkens existing moles, so it can make derm checks muddier.

That’s the part peptide threads skip. Did your derm mention mole mapping? Mine does.

I take phone pics every 3 months, same light, same spots, and note anything new. Rapid weight loss already changes skin.

No need to add a tanning drug that wrecks the baseline.
