Deadlift PR while the scale is being dramatic

Eleven months in, lifting four days a week, 180g protein, 7.5 hours sleep. My scale has been parked between 213 and 216 since early March, which used to scramble my mood.

Last night I pulled 315x3, and my log shows rep PRs on rows and dips at the same bodyweight. Sleep and protein are locked in, no fancy add-ons.

I'm not saying the scale doesn't matter, just that it's the noisiest metric I own. For people chasing recomp: does your training log get more say than the weekly average?

Honestly, hi, total newbie here (week one, so please forgive the small question). Huge congrats on 315x3—that’s wild to me.

When you log rep PRs at the same scale weight, do you count them if the last rep was a grinder, or only if bar speed stayed clean? I’m trying to figure out what “counts” for my own log without letting the scale run the show.

Thanks, and sorry if that’s obvious!

Man, that 315x3 is a better progress marker than the scale right now. When I was stuck in the 210s for what felt like forever, I started logging a monthly waist measurement and a 4-week weight average instead of daily numbers.

Scale stayed flat, waist dropped about an inch, lifts kept climbing—same thing you’re seeing with rows and dips at the same bodyweight. The only thing I’d be curious about: are you tracking any circumference or photo changes alongside your training log?

If not, that’s the piece I’d add. Otherwise your setup sounds boring in the best way.
