My most reliable dinner is not winning any beauty contests

Three years in this community and I still take pictures of my plate sometimes, mostly to laugh at myself. Tonight: half a bag of frozen green beans, two eggs, a scoop of cottage cheese, and enough hot sauce to make it look intentional. It did not.

But I was full for hours, no grazing, no 9 p.m. pantry audit. Past me would have skipped it because it wasn't "a real meal" and then eaten cereal standing up.

Now I just call it dinner and move on. Anyone else find that the least photogenic combos are the ones that actually hold?

I’ve started a note on my phone called “meals that look like a crime but hold the line.” Last night’s entry: frozen riced cauliflower, a tin of sardines, mustard, and chopped pickles. My husband walked by and asked if I was okay.

I was—full until breakfast, no 9 p.m. cracker patrol. For me the magic is volume plus something salty/tangy, not pretty.

Do you think the green beans are what does it for you, or would eggs and cottage cheese alone still keep the pantry audit away? I’m trying to build a short list of reliable no-thought dinners.
