Sleep med and GLP-1 got my appetite all over the place!

I've been on Ozempic for about five months and finally felt like the food noise was quieting. Then my doctor added a tiny dose of quetiapine for sleep. Now I wake up at 2 a.m. wanting toast and peanut butter, which is exactly the kind of habit I was trying to break.

I run a small lunch counter, so I'm around food all day, but the nighttime urge is new. I'm not asking for dosing advice—just wondering if anyone ese has had a sleep med change their appetite while on a GLP-1.

Did it settle down, or did you have to talk to your doctor about switching? I'm tracking my portions and trying to keep the evening kitchen closed, but it's a weird little tug-of-war.

oof, the 2am toast gremlin. I’m a dorm rat on a similar ride—when my sleep med changed, my appetite went full raccoon.

What helped me figure it out was a dumb notes-app log: I rated hunger 1-5 at dinner, 10pm, and whenever I woke up. Turned out I was just under-eating protein at dinner (dining hall closes at 7, so I’d have cereal like a toddler).

Now I keep cheap emergency protein in the mini fridge—plain Greek yogurt, tuna packets, edamame—and if I wake up, I ask: real hunger or just mouth boredom? Running a lunch counter would wreck me; do you get the 2am urge worse on days you’re around food more?

not a doctor, just my experience: when my sleep med changed, my 2am brain wanted carbs, not because I was hungry but because I was awake and wired. What helped me was moving the peanut butter out of the house and having a weird nighttime kit: herbal tea, cold water, a dumb phone game.

I also tracked whether the urge hit on nights I slept solid vs. fragmented sleep. Is yours tied to when you take the sleep med, or to finally crashing after being around food all day?
