i’m 52, an empty nester, and down 58 pounds over about 14 months. Most mornings I walk three miles before breakfast, and I’ve actually started cooking again — sheet pans of peppers, onions, chicken thighs, whatever’s in the fridge. The changes feel good.
But when I wave goodbye to my neighbor, my upper arms keep waving a little longer. My belly has some crepey folds too. I’m not expecting a miracle or asking for medical advice, just wondering about other people’s long-term experience.
Did your skin gradually tighten with time, or did it mostly stay the same? I know age and genetics matter, and I’m trying to make peace with the body that got me here.
Still, I’d love to hear what your version of settling in looked like after a big loss.
