I packed my food scale and never took it out

Four-day work trip, and I zipped my little food scale into the laptop bag like always. Then I left it there the whole time. Breakfast was eggs and fruit, lunch was whatever was near the conference, dinners were social and not exactly macro-friendly.

I still did my morning weigh-ins on the hotel scale and logged them, but I only paid attention to the 7-day average. By the time I got home, that average was down 0.4 lb. The daily dots bounced around, obviously.

The calm part was not treating any single morning as a verdict. Curious whether others pack tools they never end up using, or if I should just stop carrying the scale.

I keep a tab for travel weeks. My last 4-day trip: scale +2.8 lb the morning after return, but by day 3 home it was +0.4.

The food scale stayed zipped, and my weekly average was still down 0.6 because breakfasts were consistent. Actually I think it is more like hotel scales can be off by 1–2 lb from your home scale, not necessarily your body changing overnight.

Did you compare hotel morning weights to your home trendline before/after, or just log them raw? That’s the only thing that matters for my spreadsheet.
