Road habits woke up before my appetite did

I did nine months of weekly work trips with a GLP-1, lost 33 lb, and thought the quiet food noise would just stick around. When I paused in January—coverage mess, not a dramatic choice—the first two weeks felt fine.

Then the airport routine came back: lounge pretzels because they're "free," a cinnamon roll at the gate, and a gas-station snack bag for the rental car. Not because I was starving, but because travel-me used to treat every delay as a reason to graze. I'm up 7 lb and honestly the logistics did more damage than hunger.

I'm trying to pack the same boring stuff: jerky, apples, a refillable bottle, and one actual meal before the flight. Anyone else notice the relapse is less "appetite returns" and more "old road habits wake up first"?

The lounge pretzels are my kryptonite. What helped was a travel snack drawer in my carry-on: jerky, string cheese, roasted chickpeas, mini apples.

I also sit facing away from the snack table and tell myself free food only counts if I’d eat it off a plate at home. At gas stations I give myself $5 cash and it has to be water + one protein thing, not a bag haul.

I use the same drawer trick at home so I don’t graze while making the kids’ plates. Curious—does the airport boredom or the “it’s free” thing trigger you more?
