Which bloodwork changes did you actually notice beyond weight?

I’m not trying to dunk on anyone’s enthusiasm, but I’m drowning in claims about peptides, supplements, and “metabolic repair.” My own data: started at 231 lb in January, now 204. Fasting glucose dropped from 108 to 94, A1c 5.9 to 5.5, triglycerides down about 40 points. HDL basically unchanged.

I lift two mornings a week, walk 20 minutes after dinner most nights, and track protein loosely. My NP attributes most of the lab change to weight loss and consistency, not any add-on.

For those who’ve been at this a while: which markers actually moved for you, over what timeframe, and did you have pre/post labs? If you mention a study, can you share the citation or at least the journal and author? Trying to separate real signal from forum folklore.

yo, another night-owl soda-swap person here. weirdly my liver panel moved first: ALT 38 -> 21, AST

hi, total newbie here—just finished week one, so I don’t have before/after labs yet. This thread is really helpful, thank you. I made a little spreadsheet for CMP, CBC, A1c, and lipids, and I’m also tracking resting heat rate, sleep, and water because I’m a nervous tracker. Did your labs include ALT/AST or hs-CRP?

I keep seeing people mention liver enzymes and inflammation changing, but I’m not sure if that’s common or just internet noise. Sorry if that’s a silly question.

Nice data. The markers that surprised me were hs-CRP (3.8 → 1.6) and ALT (41 → 26).

Fasting insulin went 19 → 8, which tracked better with my lifts and waist than scale weight ever did. HDL stayed flat until I added more easy zone 2 and dropped another inch off my waist.

Did you check fasting insulin or hs-CRP? A1c and triglycerides improving while HDL sits still looks like insulin sensitivity moving first.

I lift 4x, prioritize protein and sleep, so I care way more about those than “metabolic repair” marketing.

Curious if you have fasting insulin/HOMA-IR? That was my early mover: 17 to 8, while A1c took months. My hs-CRP also dropped 4.1 to 1.9, but ApoB/LDL only budged when I tracked fiber and saturated fat, not just weight.

HDL stayed flat until I added more Zone 2 and cut evening alcohol. Not saying that’s causal—n=1—but it made me skeptical of “metabolic repair” as one thing. If you have insulin or ApoB, I’d be curious whether they tracked with the trig drop or lagged.

Also, are you measuring waist or just scale? My waist fell 4 inches before HDL moved.

I’m a numbers nerd, so I added hs-CRP and uric acid to my quarterly labs. Mine: hs-CRP 4.8 → 1.9, uric acid 7.2 → 5.7 over ~5 months.

A1c didn’t budge until month 4, then 5.8 → 5.4. HDL still flat at 46. BP also slid 130/86 → 118/76, RHR 73 → 64.

Anyone else see inflammation/uric acid move before the standard lipid stuff? I’m curious whether that tracks with waist or just the meds.
