Down 47 pounds over almost two years. The scale has been basically motionless since February, maybe half a pound either way, and I’m still 25 from where my doctor and I talked about. The weird part is that’s when coworkers start commenting.
“You look so different.” “What’s your secret?” I usually say, “Thanks, I’ve been chipping away,” then ask them something else. It’s not a secret, it’s logging, walking after dinner, and a lot of boring dinners.
But saying all that feels like either bragging or asking for pity because I’m annoyed the number quit moving. I don’t want to be rude. I also don’t want to pretend I’m done. What’s your go-to reply when someone notices, especially when you’re not at goal yet?
