Hit my three-year mark lat week and celebrated by restocking the muffin tray, ha. I run a small cafe — 32 seats, doors open at 6:30, and I'm the one tasting the soup and the frosting every single morning. Early on I told myself tastes didn't count. They absolutely counted.
Around month four I switched to a baby spoon for tasting and started putting my own lunch on a saucer instead of a real plate. That one swap changed more than I expected. Down 61 pounds, size 20 jeans to a 14 that's getting loose. Not fast.
There were four months last winter where the scale didn't budge at all and I just kept the routines and kept showing up anyway. The pastry case still talks to me around 2pm. I won't pretend otherwise. But it's a conversation now, not a command.
Anyone else working around food all day? How do you handle the taste-testing?
