Anyone else tracking fasting glucose on semaglutide? Odd 12-week pattern

Anyone else seeing this pattern in their labs? Fasting glucose went 104 → 92 mg/dL by week 8 of tracking, then weeks 11-14 it bounces around 95-101.

A1c was 5.6 at baseline, 5.4 at week 12. Weight down 9 kg over the same stretch, mostly from cleaning up food and training volume.

Resting HR up about 6 bpm too, which I wasn't expecting.

Is this a known plateau? Also curious how the recruiting trials differ: NCT07401992 has 62 enrolled, NCT06897475 has 200, NCT06989203 has 140. Anyone tracking similar numbers?

The week 11–14 bounce shows up all over the tracking logs people post. Fasting numbers go 98, then 103, then back to 96 — and nothing changed in between. Common surprise, honestly: the graph looks like it's breaking and then it just isn't. From what's out there, it tends to settle around week 18.

Resting HR +6 is the part that caught my eye. My own tracking went +8 bpm the first month, then down to +3 by week 10. Did yours climb after a protocol change?

My A1c went 5.7 to 5.5 at week 12, fasting stayed around 100. Weight was the bigger mover, down 11 kg. Maybe glucose lags the scale.

That fasting bounce sounds like dawn phenomenon plus lower food volume? Not a doctor, just what my CGM showed.

CGM is key. My fingersticks missed a 3am dip then a 6am rise. Average looked fine but fasting looked erratic.

I'm in a similar spot: week 16, A1c 5.5, fasting mostly 95-102. What helped me see the pattern was logging sleep and late meals. If I eat within two hours of bed, my 6am number is 5-8 mg/dL higher. A walk after dinner drops it. Not saying that's your cause, but the variance looked random until I added those columns.

The enrollment numbers are interesting-NCT06897475 at 200 is much bigger than NCT07401992 at 62. I wonder if recruitment speed changes who reports.

Wait, are those all semaglutide trials? The names look like a mixed batch. If so, comparing enrollment is apples/oranges.

I asked my endo about the HR bump. She said hydration and lean mass loss can matter, but didn't dismiss it. Mine normalized around week 20.

Not necessarily-starting weight matters. I lost 4 kg by week 14, but my fasting improved more than the scale suggested.

The A1c drop from 5.6 to 5.4 is small but real. My lab has a 0.2 margin, so I'm repeating at week 16 befor eoverreading.

CGM changed everything for me too. I stopped trusting single morning sticks. The overnight line showed a dip and a rebound I never would've guessed. Now I log bedtime snack timing and wake time. Still noisy, but less mysterious.

Late meals are my hidden variable. If dinner lands after 8, my 6am number runs 5-7 points higher. I added a 'last bite' column. Boring, but it explains half the swings I blamed on everything else.

Those trial numbers are apples/oranges for sure. Different sites, different criteria, different recruiting. I peeked at one and noped out. My own spreadsheet is already too much.

Thought they were all the same drug until I read closer. Now I just keep my own weekly log. Week 14 of tracking, fasting 93-104, sleep 5-7 hrs. The pattern's messy but it's mine.

Hydration is weirdly underrated. I started front-loading water before noon. My morning readings got less jumpy, though I also changed dinner. So who knows. Endo said lean mass too, which I'm watching.

Starting weight definitely matters. I lost 4 kg by week 12 but my waist moved more than the scale. Fasting improved in fits, not a straight line. The scale is a bad narrator.

That 0.2 margin thing is why I repeat labs. A single drop can be real, noise, or a bad night. I'm doing week 16 draw and comparing to my home log. Less drama that way.

Mine did the same little bounce aroud week 12, 94 to 100 and back. Bodies aren't linear, annoying as that is.

Sleep was my hidden variable. I chased my fasting number for a month before realizing my 5.5 hours on weeknights were doing more than my food was.

Lights out at 10:30 and my morning readings dropped 4-5 points in about 10 days. The resting HR bump you mentioned also settled once sleep got consistent, which surprised me more than the glucose did.
