Night shift, less appetite, and the scale keeps drifting down

I work 7p to 7a.

Same food most nights: coffee at the start, a turkey wrap around 1 a.m., eggs when I get home. I haven't been counting anything or adding workouts. Down 11 lb in six weeks. My watch band moved a hole.

That's the part I can't wrap my head around. Before this, every pound was a fight.

Now the scale just drifts down and I keep waiting for the catch. I'm not mad about it. I just don't trust easy. It feels less like a win and more like a glitch.

Anyone else have the loss happen before the effort feels real?

Systems answer: you probably didn’t find a cheat code, you accidentally changed the input variables. Night shift tends to collapse your eating window and kill social/snack cues; coffee + one wrap + eggs can easily land around 1,200–1,500 kcal depending on the wrap, so a ~1.5–2 lb/week drift isn’t spooky.

Sharp follow-up: what’s sleep doing? I’d log wrap brand/size, egg count, and a 1–10 hunger score for 7 days, then compare weekly averages instead of daily weighs.

The watch band hole is a nice bonus metric.

11 lb in six weeks is ~1.8/wk, and the watch band hole is a better tell than one random morning. The thing I’d check first is weigh-in timing: are you stepping on at the same point in your sleep/wake cycle?

My night-shift weeks read ~2 lb lower than day-shift weeks with identical food, just because I’m weighing after a different length of sleep and before/after coffee. If you’re comparing a post-shift weigh-in to an old pre-work one, that alone can lok like drift.

What time of day are you weighing, and is it before the 1 a.m. wrap or after eggs?
