Tech knows, still flat!

I’m about seven months into this, down 31 pounds, and my little local pharmacy has become a regular pit stop. The tech there asks about my dog and my tomato plants. My insurance switched to a new prior auth in March, and I spent a whole Saturday on hold before it went through. I expected to feel like dancing.

Instead, I’ve been sort of gray and cranky, snapping at my husband over dumb stuff like the dishwasher. I’m still walking two miles after supper and getting protein at breakfast, but the inside doesn’t match the outside yet. Anyone else have the scale move and the mood just lag behind?

Not looking for medical advice, just wondering if I’m the only one who feels a bit miserable while doing the right things.

The pharmacy-tech-knows-my-name thing hit me. It’s such a weird intimacy—someone witnesses the grind, but they can’t see the gray.

After my own PA mess cleared, I felt like I’d been holding my breath for a month and then just exhaled flat. What helped was separating the pharmacy/admin win from the body win.

I started a tiny after-pickup ritual: leave the car, walk the dog loop by the library, then come home and cook one new thing (last week: lemon lentil soup). The prior auth was a cliff I climbed; the view wasn’t there yet.

Is your gray more “what now?” or just worn out?

Man, the post-paperwork crash is real. I finally got a prior auth sorted in February, expected confetti, and instead just felt... beige. What snapped me out of it was switching my tracker to a 10-day trend line only,

Gray after a big win is real. I started a cheap paper calendar where I only track three things: hours slept, whether I got outside, and one thing that made me laugh.

Sounds corny, but my flat stretch in May lined up with rain and zero friend time. So I signed up for a Wednesday water aerobics class at the rec center—mostly grandmas and me—and it did more for my mood than the scale. Maybe pick a non-number goal?

Ours is walking the county fair without needing the tram. Do you have something fun on the calendar you’re actually looking forward to, or is it all appointments and to-dos right now?
