I planned a walking-heavy trip around my old appetite

Five months in and about 38 lb down, I booked this trip before I really understood how my appetite had shifted. I expected the old pattern: huge restaurant meals, skipped walks, feeling stuffed by 8 p.m.

Instead I ordered what sounded good, ate maybe half, and was fine. In the trials, the satiety and food-noise changes seem like a real part of the medication, not just willpower, and that tracks with my experience.

The weird part is my itinerary still assumes the old me who needed a rest day after one long museum afternoon. I’m not complaining, just recalibrating on the fly.

Has anyone else found their travel plans lagging behind their actual appetite or stamina?

something similar happened on a trip to the Smokies. I used to plan around “worth it” meals, but this time I split an entrée and actually wanted the afternoon walk.

My phone said 14k steps one day and I never got that stuffed, dragging feeling. Did you notice your energy held steadier after eating less?

I’ve been jotting a 1–5 fullness note in my phone instead of counting calories, and the pattern is obvious. Our little pharmacy has been buried in insurance paperwork lately, so I was just glad refills landed before I left.

Did you end up walking more than you planned?
