The Wednesday line saved me from a weird Thursday spike

I'm a daily weigher, but not a daily reactor. My real check-in is Wednesday after supper, when I pull up the last seven mornings and look at the direction, not the dot. This week I saw 212.6, 214.7, 213.4, 213.1, 212.9, 212.5, 212.3.

That one big jump came after a late ramen bowl, and the line just kept easing down 0.6 lb overall. Nothing heroic happened. I hit my water, took two normal walks, and didn't turn the kitchen upside down over a salty Tuesday.

The calm part for me is deciding ahead of time that daily numbers are weather and the weekly line is climate. If I only checked once a week, that 214.7 would've felt like a verdict. Instead it was just a blip with a story I already knew.

Anyone else have a specific day or trigger for their check-in that keeps them from over-reading the scale?

The late ramen spike is so real. My dorm version is instant noodles + a boiled egg + frozen edamame, which is basically gourmet on a meal-plan budget, but the sodium makes Thursday me look like a lightly salted balloon.

What helped me was adding a second line: same-weekday average, Wednesday to Wednesday, because my Mondays are always weird after weekend dining hall chaos. So I don’t panic at one 2-lb blip, I just see if the Wednesday line is still sloping down.

Do you count the ramen night as a data point you keep, or do you mentally flag it and move on? Also, 0.6 down while surviving dorm food is a win.

My line is more of a squiggle with attitude.
